About Kim Danger

Kimberly Danger is a nationally-recognized consumer advocate and family savings expert. She is the author of 1000 Best Baby Bargains. She has recently been featured in New York Times Online Edition, and is the founder of Mommysavers.com, a web-based resource and forum for women.

Danger's straightforward advice covers a wide range of everyday areas, including organization, family budgeting, frugal living, baby bargains, travel, family entertainment and more. Her tips and interviews have been featured in national and local media across the country, including Parenting, Women's Day, Redbook and CBS's The Early Show.

Danger began focusing on family savings in early 2000 while at home on maternity leave. After giving up her full-time job to stay home with her daughter, she began researching ways to save money but had trouble finding a comprehensive resource for all of her questions. So, she decided to create one and founded Mommysavers.com for other mothers like herself. Today, Danger's advice is available nationwide and her website, www.mommysavers.com, receives over three million page views a month. One of its most popular features is an online discussion forum where moms facing similar issues concerning time management and family budgeting share their ideas.

In 2007, Danger teamed up with Uniroyal Tire as spokesperson for the brand's More Mileage for Your Money national public service campaign. Working with Uniroyal, she offers free savings advice and e-Books on topics, including time management, family budgeting, summer travel, cooking and shopping efficiently and Halloween tricks & Holiday tips.

Danger holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Minnesota. She lives with her husband and two kids in southern Minnesota. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, photography, and cooking.

How it Works

* Calculated Fuel/Cost Savings are approximate estimations based on several variables, and not precise measurements.

Keep Tires Inflated
Check the inflation pressure of your tires. You need to check your tire inflation pressure once a month and adjust accordingly. This simple step can save up to 9 cents per gallon.
Tune Engine
Research also shows that a poorly tuned engine can greatly increase fuel consumption. Following the recommended maintenance schedule in your vehicle’s owner's manual may save as much as 12 cents per gallon, help the car run better and contribute to a longer life.
Keep Wheels Aligned
Another big factor is proper wheel alignment. Making sure your vehicle is properly aligned can save as much as 15 cents per gallon. Your local Uniroyal dealer can assess your vehicle’s wheel alignment.
Shop around for gas
Shop around for gas by checking out independent Web sites such as GasBuddy.com or GasPriceWatch.com to find the stations with the lowest prices in your area. Research shows that gas prices vary as much as 16 cents per gallon in a typical market.
Use cruise control
Using cruise control when driving on the highway maintains a constant speed and reduces fuel consumption – as much as 17 cents per gallon for people who do half of their daily driving on the highway.
Replace air filter
A clean filter versus one that is severely clogged can mean savings as much as 29 cents per gallon.
