Uniroyal Soccer Program Kicks Off Ninth YearUniroyal is now entering its ninth year as a major supporter of youth soccer, and the impact of its support continues to grow - with nearly $11 million in funds and equipment, including over 818,000 soccer balls, donated to more than 2,800 youth soccer leagues across the country. Next year, Uniroyal looks forward to celebrating the 10-year anniversary of providing support for soccer families across the U.S. "We're proud to play a role in fostering the growth of youth soccer," said Kaz Holley, Uniroyal® Tire Brand Director. "It's easy to see why it has become one of America's fastest growing youth sports. It's a game that can be enjoyed by kids of all ages and is such a wonderful family activity." Uniroyal is working with its dealers to provide equipment and funds to youth soccer leagues in dealers' communities. With more than 900 dealers participating this year, this grassroots program is impacting hundreds of thousands of soccer families.
Continued Support of Local CommunitiesUniroyal began working with some of its dealers in the fall of 2000 to support their local youth soccer leagues through free ball giveaways and fundraising promotions (each league receives $2 for every Uniroyal® tire sold to the general public during the 30-day promotion). The program has expanded each year and is now being implemented in hundreds of communities across America. The kids look forward to beginning their soccer season with a nice, new Uniroyal ball. The leagues use the financial donations to fund scholarships for underprivileged children, new field development and operational expenses. "This is really a tremendous program because everyone benefits," said Holley. "The kids receive free soccer balls, the leagues receive funds, and we have the opportunity to provide support to families in our local communities." "As a mother and an administrator for the soccer league, I love the Uniroyal program. Kids can never get enough soccer balls. The balls are in the yard, in the car, in the house. Everywhere!" – Lori Hinze, Carolina Elite Soccer Academy, Greenville, SC For more details or information about the Uniroyal Soccer Program, please call 877-894-3314 or email marnn@trone.com |
